Success is something we are born with. So therefore, is the ability (and desire) to become more successful. This may sound very simple, however since success in life is not a "yes or no" issue, but more an issue of "to what degree are you successful?" then it is fair to say, by being born,(and surviving the process) that you are successful.
The task of increasing our levels of success in life begins immediately and it begins with the natural curiosity we were born with. Perhaps it starts with wondering about the relationship between things. Take for instance the relationship between crying and parents. Soon we notice that there is a relationship, and shortly after that we determine what the relationship is. It is at this point that we begin our first "effective" communication. So through our curiosity we have starting learning how to communicate, and we have become more successful.
Many people (adults) comment on how time seems to be "passing us by" faster and faster with each year. I believe that this happens because children are generally more curious then adults and so, spend more time satisfying their curiosity - or 'learning'. When we are learning time seems to pass at a different rate. This happens because each moment has a memory attached to it, whereas when you are not learning, a whole day/week/month can pass you by with no particular reason to remember -hence time appears to "fly right by". This is important to realize, because it is only through learning that we become more successful in our lives.
"If you really want to grow in your life, learn to be as curious as a child. Children know how to wonder, that is why they are so endearing. If you want to cure boredom, be curious. If you're curious, nothing is a chore; it's automatic - you want to study. Cultivate curiosity and life becomes an unending study of joy." - Anthony Robbins
Cultivate Your Curiosity Naturally we are assuming that after reading the above feature, that you are interested in developing a greater sense of curiosity. So, that is what we will do this week. As usual, this exercise will be most effective if you actually do it.
