PURPOSE & OUTCOMES: The Desired State The NLP in Education Network is a community of people committed to and active in transforming education, having an impact on it so that -
We are about ‘making the difference that really makes the difference’. |
How the NLP in Education Network Community achieve this?
It involves a two-way process Putting NLP into Education and Putting Education into NLP :
Putting ‘NLP’ into Education: NLP provides a basis for analysing, interpreting and then understanding ‘how’ - how we .. learn, teach, communicate, lead, manage, influence, …. How we write, spell, add up, understand time and place. That is the basis of the power of NLP Alongside this, NLP provides a growing knowledge and a wide range of tools and techniques for (re)discovering these ‘hows’, bringing the unconscious competence into the conscious realms - and thereby providing
Our Network is helping to put NLP into the Education domain, making it accessible to teachers and learners, their families and friends, heads and manager, officers and advisers, teacher trainers and researchers, local and national politicians and all those who have an influence and impact on education. We are supporting those individuals and groups who are using and applying NLP in education, in developing their classroom practice, their managing and leading, their advising and consulting. |
Putting education into NLP: The roots of NLP lie in the world of therapy and is still very much influenced by it. We can draw knowledge, ideas and applications from the education world and use them to enhance NLP, develop knowledge within and applications of NLP that are appropriate to education. We have a set up a working group that are considering Practitioner and Master Practitioner Certification and will make proposals to a number of validating bodies. This is not to minimise but support the work already being done by a number of training companies. We encourage NLPers to uncover more learning strategies (such as ‘The Spelling Strategy’) and to make them openly available both the NLP and education communities. Probably the best people to do this are teachers and students - with the NLP skills of course. It is about a mutual partnership between these two approaches, about each of them having an influence and impact on the other. |
