Perhaps you have been wondering what NLP is and how it can make a difference in dealing with students with learning difficulties. Well, here is your chance to see for yourself, to hear from fellow teachers the impact that NLP is making already in the area of Special Educational Needs, and to get a feel of how you too can help your pupils reach their potential.

Perhaps you're reading this workshop article because you teach or have a child with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD) - or Dyslexia, or Asperger Syndrome - or you (or your spouse) have learning difficulties yourself, or both. The first step to healing or helping others heal their learning difficulties is to see them and yourself in a new way, a way which allows for change. A way which offers hope, and provides specific and useful tools and skills.

NLP provides the new way. Sometimes referred to as 'the study of subjective experience' it offers very exciting opportunities for students who have been diagnosed with learning difficulties or disabilities. NLP is the study of how individuals put their experience (pictures, words, feelings, actions) together and how effective they are in achieving the results they want. It is based on the premise that we are "programmed" by our past experiences - sometimes in ways that support us and sometimes in ways that limit us. NLP enables you to recognise non-judgmentally any limiting behavioural, communication, learning, or emotional patterns and gives you the tools to do something about them. It shows you how you can shift, or, if necessary, "reprogram" certain beliefs, internal states, behaviours or (learning) strategies so that you are freed-up to get the results you want in your life.

On the workshop you will discover new effective learning strategies for helping students with AD/HD, Dyslexia and other learning difficulty symptoms and learn how to:

• enhance perception in yourself and your students
• turn students on to school and KEEP them turned on and committed
• positively affect self esteem
• adapt your teaching to individual learning styles
• encourage effective learning states for your students and yourself
