MAGICAL SPELLING with NLP
A 1/2-day Practical Workshop
REDISCOVER THE JOY OF SPELLING
Perhaps you have been wondering how is it that some students find spelling easy while others find it real hard or even impossible. Well, here is your chance to see for yourself, to hear from fellow teachers the impact that NLP is making in helping us all spell with ease - and enjoy the experience.
Spelling is an important and fundamental language skill that does not come "naturally" to everyone. In fact, intelligent people who otherwise excel in the classroom, even in language abilities, may experience strong and even debilitating difficulties in spelling. Ability with spelling is not a function of some kind of 'spelling gene' but rather the structure of the internal cognitive strategy one is using as one spells. Thus, if people experience difficulty with spelling, it is not because they are 'stupid,' 'lazy' or 'learning disabled' but rather because they are trying to use an ineffective internal thinking strategy.
NLP, Neuro Linguistic Programming, is a unique approach to understanding how we learn and communicate with others. NLP deals with how you relate to others, how you make decisions, deal with conflict and how you influence others. It can help you create rapport with others and become more skilful in designing, planning and delivering effective learning and teaching environments and activities.
