I've visited your website and found to my relief that there are other people in education who have heard of and understand NLP! I am a teaching assistant in a mainstream primary school in Herts and a licensed NLP practitioner. I mainly support children with difficulties within the mainstream environment, and am interested in further training in learning difficulties and NLP. I have had some success with my techniques, but have found that recognition within an educational environment is somewhat difficult. I have no formal teaching qualifications and find that this seems to limit expectations of my ability and therefore of my results. I have had several instances of progress in children who have been previously slow to advance that has been initiated by NLP techniques. Unfortunately, this progress has been put down to coincidence and/or other factors, and while I'm sure to the uninitiated my problem sounds like sour grapes, those who understand the power of NLP will understand my difficulty. I would appreciate some input from anyone else who has found themselves in a similar position - I'm not necessarily looking for personal glory here, but just an affirmation of the skills and techniques of NLP so that I can help more children and persuade my sceptical teaching colleagues that this is something worth pursuing!
